How it works

From browsing to the back of the van — we KISS

Renting cleared artwork should take minutes, not meetings. Here is the whole process, start to finish — no accounts required to look, no payment ever taken on this site.

  1. Step one

Browse and build a Set List

Work through the collections, or search by keyword or photo. Anything you might use goes on a Set List — think of it as a shortlist per room, per episode, or per shoot day. Lists are saved, named, duplicated and shared, and nothing on one is held or charged.

  2. Step two

    Check your dates

Every piece shows live availability. Pick a collection date and a return date and the system tells you straight away whether the set is free, and when it next opens if it is not. We ask for at least 2 days between booking and pick-up so the work can be pulled and checked.

  3. Step three

Send it as a Hold Request

A Hold Request puts your dates in front of a person, not a checkout. We confirm the pieces are genuinely free, flag anything that clashes, and come back within 72 hours. There is no payment step on this website and no card is ever asked for.

  4. Step four

    We confirm and invoice

Once approved, the dates are locked to you and an invoice follows by email with a PDF attached. Payment is by cheque only — made out to Act One Art and settled directly with us, outside the site.

  5. Step five

    Collect, shoot, return

Pick-up is by appointment. The standard rate covers 7 days; further weeks are charged at 50% of the first. Bring it back on the agreed date, we check it over, and that closes the rental.

The things people ask first

You only collect on certain days — can I still reach you?
Any time. We are available by phone and email seven days a week to take a booking or answer a question, and we will never leave you stranded. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings are only when artwork physically moves — not when we are reachable. Need something for Wednesday and it is Tuesday? Get in touch and we will make it work.
Do I pay on the website?
No. There is no checkout and no card processing anywhere on this site. You receive an invoice after we confirm, and settle it directly with us by cheque — we do not take cards.
Can I rent one piece from a set?
Sets rent complete. They were made and photographed as groups and they read on camera as groups, so individual pieces are not available separately. One-offs, of course, rent on their own.
Is everything cleared for copyright?
Yes. Every piece in the catalogue is original work, cleared for production use, so it can appear on camera without a clearance chase.
What if I need it for months, not weeks?
Long periods are priced by hand rather than by the week. Use the Long-term rental button on any artwork and we will send a figure.
Can you make something we cannot find?
Often, yes — send us a brief with a budget and a date and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
How do I get the images to my department?
Every artwork and every collection has a Print images for runsheet button, which lays the photos out with sizes and rates on a printable page.
